A business accelerator · Saving the skipjack Coaster
Stabilizing Coaster — and building the nonprofit to bring her home.
The Trillium Group, Inc is a business accelerator. We fund the immediate stabilization of Coaster, a wooden Chesapeake Bay skipjack, move her to a facility where she can be evaluated, and build the 501(c)(3) that will restore her and return her to the Chesapeake.

The nonprofit we are building to restore her
The last working sailboats in America are disappearing.
Skipjacks once numbered in the hundreds, dredging oysters across the Chesapeake under sail. Today only a handful remain seaworthy. Coaster can still be saved — but only if she is stabilized and moved now. As an accelerator, we provide the capital and structure to get her out of danger and into the hands of a 501(c)(3) built to restore her.
How we accelerate
What an accelerator does for Coaster.
Fund stabilization
We provide the immediate capital to stabilize Coaster so she stops deteriorating and is safe to move.
Relocate for evaluation
We move Coaster to a proper facility where shipwrights can survey her and scope the full restoration.
Build the 501(c)(3)
We stand up the nonprofit, board, and funding structure that will own and restore Coaster for the long term.
Hand off to restore
We transition Coaster to the 501(c)(3) that will complete her restoration and return her to the Chesapeake fleet.
The plan
From stabilization to the harvest grounds.
